Local Law Enforcement
Around fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Police say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.
The substance had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then discovered multiple other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement report preliminary tests indicate the liquid was probably human blood.
"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; authorities are not yet cognizant of any harm in association with the event," they stated.
Municipal representatives stated they were working "to unravel the case" and have asked to the residents for tips.
An important representative stated the attack made him without words and had to be addressed rapidly.
"This act hits the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing attack in 2020," he wrote on online, referring to the death of nine people by a shooter targeting residents of foreign heritage in five years prior.
